Kelly Clarkson 'Hated Life' After Winning American Idol

In a recent interview with Redbook Magazine, Kelly Clarkson has admitted that after being crowned the winner of American Idol a decade ago, she nearly quit music completely and did not enjoy the first four years of her career.
The singer told the magazine "They were looking out for the show, and it was horrible. I was 19 years old. I was smart enough to know that it wasn't about me, but that didn't make it any easier. I'm all cried out about it, but my first four years, I hated my life; I almost quit a dozen times."
It sounds like she had a pretty hard time, and it sucks that she had to go through that when she was only 19 years old! I hate that a lot of shows like American Idol care more about the ratings than the stars.
I'm so glad she got through it and didn't quit, I adore Kelly and her music and she seems like the sweetest person!
She is now 30 years old and went on to tell the magazine that she's finally happy with her boyfriend Brandon Blackstock by her side, unaffected by speculation about her sexuality saying that if she was gay, she wouldn't hide it from anyone. Go on girl!
What do you think? Do you think the show should have looked out for her?
