Lostprophets Front Man Ian Watkins Arrested For Child Sex Offences

Ian Watkins, lead singer of the welsh rock band Lostprophets, has been arrested.
He has been charged with conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a female under 13 as well as the possession/distribution of child pornography. South Wales Police named the man as Ian to help with their investigation.
The 35 year-old appeared at Cardiff Magistrates Court this morning, along with two women who have been charged with similar offences, where it was heard that he is alleged to have conspired with a woman to rape a one-year-old girl as well as engaging in sexual touching with two young children and making, possessing and distributing indecent images.
Senior investigating officer, Detective Inspector Peter Doyle, said: “Specially-trained staff are available to speak to anyone with concerns or information regarding this investigation and a dedicated telephone number has been set up. I want to encourage anyone who has any concerns or information which they think may be relevant to contact us. Safeguarding children involved in such cases is always a high priority and as such measures have already been taken.”
The NSPCC are also working alongside the police on this investigation.
This is such a shock. I adore Lostprophets and they have had an amazing year - a new album, a successful tour, headlining UK Warped Tour just last month as well as being crowned Best Rock Band at the Kerrang Awards in the summer.
I'm sure Ian Watkins has been a role model to many in the past, it's a shame he didn't use that position purely for great things.
But let's not forget: innocent until proven guilty.
